BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO PA VINCENT OMOARUKHE
SCOBA now has another Octogenarian after Carolean (Pa) Lawrence Ajisegiri (the oldest, living Charlean so far), also of 65 Set. He is Carolean (Pa) Vincent Omoarukhe. He was born 80 years ago, precisely on April 07, 1941.
In a society that is constantly bedevilled with economic crises, ravaged by diseases and has one of the lowest life expectancy rates in the world (45-50 years), attaining 80 years of age is not easy. Our brothers and sisters from a section of the South-South geopolitical zone will say 'noh be yoke' (it is not a joke). Some will say it is not 'moin moin'. It, definitely, is a function of God's unmerited favour via HIS 'mercy & grace' in Carolean (Pa) Vincent Omoarukhe's life. IT IS A FEAT of some sort and we (SCOBA) are not taking God for granted here. HE (GOD) has been marvellous and we are celebrating with our brand new, 'tear-rubber' Octogenarian, Carolean/Charlean (Pa) Vincent Omoarukhe.
Today's birthday 'boy' was admitted into St. Charles' in 1960 and graduated in 1965, making him a member of that very unique and glorious Set.
Carolean/Charlean (Pa) Vincent Omoarukhe does not underestimate the impact of St. Charles' in his life and the values the institution has inculcated in him. Little wonder that he practically swapped his native Edo root for Osogbo as he has 'adopted' the latter as his permanent abode, alongside his family.
Join us in congratulating Carolean/Charlean (Pa) Vincent Omoarukhe, his family, SCOBA, the Carolean/65 Set, his friends and associates on this unique, landmark birthday. We wish him many more years in good health as he watches younger generations of Charleans steer the ship of our alma mater and alumni association into greater glory.
