• BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO CHARLEAN PROF ADEBIYI DARAMOLA

  SCOBA CEC rejoices with Professor Adebiyi Gregory Daramola (Stanza 704) as he becomes 63 years of age today.

  Professor Daramola was Born on March 2, 1958. He had his secondary education, first at Anglican Grammar School, Ile-Ife and St. Charles' Grammar, Osogbo, before proceeding to The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1975.
  Charlean 'Biyi Daramola had his first degree from the University of Ife, (now known as Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1980) and his Master’s (1982) and Doctor of Philosophy (1987) Degrees from the University of Ibadan.

  WORKING/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  Professor Adebiyi Gregory Daramola started his working career as a Teaching/Tutorial Assistant in the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Ibadan in 1982.

  Later on, he joined the services of the Federal University of Technology, Akure as Assistant Lecturer in 1986. With sheer tenacity and hard work, he rose through the ranks to become a full Professor in the Department of Agricultural
  Economics and Extension in the year 1999. Charlean (Professor) Daramola served the University in various capacities; as Head of Department, Chairman and Member of various Committees.

  Charlean (Professor) Adebiyi Gregory Daramola was appointed the 6th Vice Chancellor of FUTA on May 10, 2012. He spent 5 meritorious years in that office with landmark projects - though not without some insurmountable and intriguing travails orchestrated by some staff unions and mischievous close associates. Many Charleans, including Oba Richard Alli,  Abiodun Fasina, Asiwaju Rotimi Obeisun (704 Stanza), Professors Gbadamosi and Oguntade (also @  FUTA), Barristers Kayode Olabiran and  Niyi Fasunhan (Director, Legal Unit of FUTA) and yours truly (with wife) graced the thanksgiving service marking the 'clean bill of health' given him by regulatory authorities, EFCC inclusive. He has over 80 publications in both National and International reputable journals.

  The erudite Scholar and University Administrator is also a Consultant to The World Bank, Food and Agriculture Organisation (UN), Federal Government of Nigeria. He is also a Consultant to International Finance Corporation; Accord Associate, Consultant to USAID, UK – Department for International Development and African Development Bank , among many others. He is a member of many academic and professional organizations, including American Association of Agricultural Economists, International Association of Agricultural Economists. He is a fellow of the
  Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists etc.

  Charlean (Professor) Adebiyi Gregory Daramola is a very active member of Stanza 704. SCOBA CEC notes that he was amongst those with very outstanding results (Grade/Division 1) in his 1974 Set of St. Charles'.

  Worthy of note too is his close-knit friendship with the current President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, based largely on academic exploits in the same field of Agricultural Economics from their days at The Polytechnic, Ibadan through Unife and career professional life.

  He is happily married to one wife, blessed with one (1) daughter, two (2) sons and a grand-daughter.
