BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO SCOBA PILLAR, CHARLEAN PIUS ADESAKIN.
Happy 60th birthday to our indefatigable Publicity Secretary, Charlean Pius Adedotun Adesakin.
Born on February 08, 1961 in Ilaro, Ogun State to Late Prince Julius Akinlolu Adesakin and Madam Felicia Titilayo Adesakin, both of Ile-Ife, Osun State. He attended Lagos Premier Day School, Surulere, Lagos between January 1968 and June 1973; St. Charles' Grammar School, Osogbo from September 1973 to June 1978; University of Ife (Institute of Agriculture, Research & Training, Akure) between September 1979 and June 1981; University of Benin, Benin-City from September 1982 to June 1986 and Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State from 1998 to 2000. From these institutions, he obtained an Ordinary Diploma in General Agriculture, a B.Sc in Sociology & Anthropology and an MBA in Strategic Management respectively... so he is an Agriculturist, a Sociologist & Anthropologist and a Strategic Manager rolled into one.
He had his mandatory NYSC in the then Gongola State (now Adamawa State) between September 1986 to June 1987. After NYSC, he joined Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited in November 1987. He worked there severally as Sales Supervisor, Sales Manager and Production Manager in that order. One of his very successful projects/tasks as Sales Manager of the company was the identification, cultivation and development of the Equatorial Guinean market for the company's products. He personally and profitably exported the company's table eggs to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea between 1990 and 1991.
He left Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited in 1992 and joined Chartered Bank Limited (now Stanbic IBTC) in November 1993, worked there as Assistant Supervisor, Supervisor and Officer in that order. Notable amongst his training and tasks in the bank was in International Treasury where he 'cut his professional teeth' in foreign exchange dealing and management between 1996 and 2000. He was also a member of the Money Market Association of Nigeria. He left Chartered Bank in August 2001 to join Omegabank Plc as Assistant Manager. He rose to become Deputy Manager and Manager before the bank merged with 5 other banks to metamorphose into Springbank Plc in January 2006. He became a Senior Manager in the bank in 2008. He was with the bank (Enterprise Bank Limited in August 2011) until he retired on May 21, 2014 after 26 years of corporate experience (21 of which was in banking). He was at a time Acting Regional Head of Ikeja Region, with 14 branches under his management.
He attended various notable local and foreign courses in Treasury Management, Foreign Exchange Dealing and Management as well as Credit and Marketing. One of those courses was Citibank NY's prized Bourse Game.
His handling of and advisory on 3rd Currency deals at Chartered Bank Limited and Omegabank Plc respectively, for very good and appreciable bottomline effects of the banks were noteworthy.
He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (FSM) - 2006 and the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (FICE) - 2012.
He is currently into Asset Management (Funds & Property) and also in partnership with Karl Kenz Construction (Nigeria) Limited as Executive Director.

Auditor/Member, CEC, (2016-2018)
Member, Convention Planning Committee/Chairman, Stanzas/Branches/Chapters Coordination Subcommittee of the 2018 Global Biennial Convention. He is currently, the Publicity Secretary of SCOBA. He loves watching and playing Lawn Tennis and Football (note that the playing is noncompetitive). He is an unapologetic Arsenal fan, TOKAN - TOKAN.
He is happily married to Ayodeji and both are blessed with 5 lovely daughters namely: Oluwagbemisola, Oluwadamilola, Temitope, Anjolaoluwa and Abiola.
