Member of Stanza 812 and Lagos State Chairman, Charlean (Comrade) Sola Williams Tokede is 55 today; we rejoice with him, his family, classmates, friends and associates as they celebrate.
He was born on the 26th of January,1966 in Ile-Ife, Osun State, though a native of Otan Ayegbaju, the headquarters of Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State where his parents hailed from.
He started his primary education at St. Nicholas Primary School, Otan Ayegbaju and completed it at St. Brigid's Primary School, Mokola, Ibadan in 1977. He proceeded to St. Charles' Grammar School, Osogbo for his secondary education between 1977 and 1982 *(He was the Choir Prefect in his set who led the morning assembly and Sunday procession to the Catholic Cathedral at Gbemu, Osogbo. He was among the best students in his set who made their papers at once).
He later attended Oyo State College of Arts and Sciences, Ile-Ife, Osun State and left after a year to complete his HSC at Government College, Ibadan in 1985. He proceeded to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile - Ife where he graduated in 1994 with honours. He worked in many private schools in Lagos as a Teacher, Head Teacher and School Administrator after his NYSC in Enugu State in between 1994 and 1995.
He was engaged by iUnion Homes Plc (a subsidiary of the Union Bank Plc) in 2000 and left in 2014 on account of his exploits as the President of ASSBIFI (Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institution) at Union Homes and the National Financial Secretary that fought the bank in 2013 for retrenching hundreds of Staff without commensurate compensation and redundancy payments. Charlean Sola Williams Tokede is a consummate leader and activist who does not look elsewhere when people's rights are being trampled upon.
OFFICES HELD IN SCHOOLS ATTENDED AND WORK PLACE:
He was the Office Prefect during his primary school days at St. Brigid's, Ibadan;
Choir Prefect at St. Charles' Grammar School, Osogbo;
Punctuality Prefect at Government College, Ibadan during his HSC days and the Secretary General of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Students' Union in his University days.
He later became the President of the Workers' Union, ASSBIFI at Union Homes between 2008 and 2014 when he left the services of the organization.
He is presently the MD/CEO of The House of Gold Unique Enterprises which is into Micro Finance Credit Scheme that services small/medium scale enterprises and also into transportation business.
A staunch Catholic, Charlean (Comrade) Sola Williams Tokede was the President of the Legion of Mary in the Lagos Province, comprising the Archdiocese of Lagos and the Dioceses of Abeokuta and Ijebu Ode between 2011 and 2017, serving 2 (two) terms.
He is presently the PRO1 of the Catholic Men Organisation in the Archdiocese of Lagos. He had served in the past, as the Chairman of St.John, Igando Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) and the Vice Chairman of the Church Council at St. Rita Catholic Church, Akesan-Igando in 2010/2012.
SCOBA ASSIGNMENTS:
He was the Financial Secretary of SCOBA under Past President Tayo Orekoya's CEC between 2010 and 2012; he is the current Secretary of the 812 Stanza and the Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of SCOBA.
A man of many parts and persuasion, Charlean (Comrade) Sola Williams Tokede is a Chartered Banker i.e. an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (ACIB) and worked with Union Homes Plc, where he rose to the post of a Manager before he left in 2014.
He got married to a fellow Catholic and his heartbeat, Eucharia Obiangeri (nee Nkwocha) from Umukabia, Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State in 2000 and both are blessed with 4 children; 2 girls and 2 boys.
