BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO SCOBA PRESIDENT, CHARLEAN ROTIMI ALUKO.
It's SCOBA President, Charlean Rotimi Aluko's birthday today and we are rejoicing for divine gift of life, wisdom and direction for family, business, SCOBA and alma mater.
Charlean Rotimi Aluko attended St. Charles' between 1971 and 1975 where he was a member of St. John's House and lived his entire St. Charles' life in Kibuka Dormitory (a.k.a Former Chapel). He Captained the 'tough' B Class of the 715 Set from form 3 to form 5 (1973-1975).
A Management practitioner with bias in Marketing holds LL.B and an MBA in addition to other qualifications and Fellowship of the National Institute of Marketing.Of Nigeria.
In addition, Charlean Aluko has had the benefit of several top-end local and international management trainings/courses in Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, UAE, Hong Kong, England, France and the USA. He has logged in over 37 years of corporate experience in the business world. Out of this, he had a 20-year career-stint in various capacities at Lafarge Nigeria (WAPCO) PLC where he grew to Head Purchasing functions of Sagamu Factory and Central Purchasing and Marketing & Sales Function in the company's Paints & Cement Divisions.
Charlean Rotimi Aluko took early retirement from Lafarge to serve as MD/CEO of Voda Paints Limited, a paint manufacturing concern he founded. Charlean Rotimi Aluko, a Leadership guru, is the Immediate Past Chairman, Paint Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, a Sub-Sector of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN). He is currently a Council Member at MAN in his capacity as Chairman, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sector. He is also the Vice President of Chemical & Non Metallic Products Employers Federation. A much sought after Guest Speaker on Strategy, Business Development, Organisational Culture/Climate and Commercial Resource Optimisation in his earlier career days, Charlean Rotimi Aluko has transited to being a much sought-after industry advocacy contributor those who know him want on their side.
He is a very proud and passionate member of SCOBA, an active member of Stanza 715 (which he had the honour of serving as President between 1992 and 1993 after other Stanza positions earlier held) and Chairman of Lagos Chapter of SCOBA between 2003 and 2007. As the current President of SCOBA and Head of its Central Executive Council, shares with the CEC Team, the vision for driving the OBJECTS of the association and our alma mater through:
*(1) enhancement/improvement of the academic standard and progression of current students of our alma mater - who are the future members of SCOBA to assure the current members of mentally well-groomed membership positioned strong for multi-layer, staggered, seamless and smooth transitions into SCOBA leadership that will avoid or forestall a generational membership vacuum or gulf in SCOBA in the near future. This has culminated as part of the motivation for in The 'Back To The Top' programme for the school*
*(2) Possible human capital enlightenment and development for members in retirement, in business and in civil service to enable them cope with the current economic realities and pursue meaningful lives*
*(3) where and when necessary, impactful welfare programmes for members of the association, staff and students of St. Charles'*
*(4) Networking and mobilising key stakeholders, government(s), corporate bodies and people for required resources needed to achieve 1-3 above*
*(5) positively projecting the image of our alma mater and SCOBA and ensuring that the Association is strengthened fit to pursue and discharge its noble Objects - the advancement of St. Charles') the students and the sustainable fraternity of members of our Association*
*(6) bringing orderliness into the affairs of SCOBA, particularly members' respect for SCOBA Constitution and conduct on our social media platforms. This gave birth to the SCOBA RED LINE COMMUNICATION Guide- a rule of engagement aimed at ensuring focus, mutual respect, group unity of purpose, sound mutual communication among members on our communication platforms*
We appreciate this truly cerebral and altruistic, thoughtful, serviceable, positively impactful and supportive role model imbued with high ethics and moral standing whose persona has been of high inspiration to members of SCOBA, staff and students of the school.
We note his other siblings who passed through St. Charles', viz:
*Charlean Folusho Aluko of 72 Set (elder brother)* and
*Late Charlean Femi Aluko of 704 Stanza (elder brother) - may his soul rest in perfect peace, amen*
His hobbies include general reading, documentaries, music, following developments in Science & Technology, and international affairs.
Charlean Rotimi Aluko is a very happy family man.
