  • SAPPHIRE JUBILEE CELEBRATION: CHARLEAN ENGR FOLUSO OYESIKU

    We, today, celebrate the current 1st Vice President of SCOBA's Central Executive Council, Charlean (Engr./Pastor) Foluso Oyesiku as he marks his 65th birthday.
     
    Born to Engr. Olajide Oyesiku (father) and Mrs. Gbeminiyi Sabinah Oyesiku (mother). Engr. Olajide Oyesiku was a Water Engineer, in-charge of Osogbo-Ede Waterworks between 1968 and 1972 (while young Foluso Oyesiku was in St. Charles'). He (Engr. Olajide Oyesiku) passed on in Sagamu where he was transferred to from Osogbo in March 1975. Mrs. Gbeminiyi Sabinah Oyesiku, who worked severally at Western State Secretariat, Ibadan and later at Abeokuta Secretariat. She passed on in Feb 1989.
     
    Charlean Foluso Oyesiku attended the prestigious University of Lagos from June 1975 to July 1978; did his NYSC in Rivers State between 1978 and 1979. His primary assignment as a lecturer was at the then University of Science and Technology, now Rivers State University of Science & Technology.
     
    He returned to Lagos to join an Electrical & Mechanical Consulting Firm and later left for NEPA/PHCN in Feb 1982. He
    worked in various parts of Nigeria's geopolitical Zones except the North East as a Distribution Sub-Sector Engineer of the Organisation. He later rose to become the MD/CEO of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company between August 2011 to November 2013 and retired thereafter.
     
    In retirement, Charlean Oyesiku now has and runs his private outfits, MAFDY Engineering Company and Patmos Printing Press as the Companies' MD/CEO. Charlean Oyesiku is happily married to Mrs. Adedoyin Oyesiku and the union is blessed with children and grandchildren. CEC also notes that our Charlean Oyesiku played football for our alma mater in his  final year in school. Also known as Oyéè in his school days, Engr. Oyesiku still finds time to play Squash and Table Tennis.
     
    As a very versatile technocrat and administrator in Nigeria's immediate past energy/power sector, he brings his rich knowledge, wisdom and wealth of experience to serve on SCOBA's current Central Executive Council as its 1st Vice President. He also heads CEC's Disciplinary and Communications Committees. He gives the much needed balance and value-addition to issues in the Council and direction to the  Committees. He also heads the SCOBA Web/Media Adminstration Team (SWAT).
     
    Charlean (Engr./Pastor) Oyesiku's proven competence in the country's energy/power sector informed his choice by the RCCG to head the team with the responsibility for 24/7 uninterrupted lighting of its vast and famous Redemption Camp. He is a Full Pastor (not full time Pastor) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
     
    Our 1st VP is good-hearted with strong, passionate focus on the welfare of SCOBA members, a very committed and financially responsible member to his 69/73 Set and SCOBA - all aimed at moving our alma mater and SCOBA forward.
     
    Here's rejoicing with the family, 69/73 Set, SCOBA family, friends and associates of a devoted Man of God and family man,  passionate old boy and consummate Engineer, Charlean (Engr./Pastor) Foluso Oyesiku. May God continue to grant him divine health, success in all his endeavours and longer life.
