Distinguished Charleans,
As the Welfare Secretary of Charleans' Worldwide, I remain attentive to the developments within our community. Recently, I learned through informal channels that a prominent individual with ties to Charleans would be visiting London. Anticipating his arrival, I reached out to him, and he expressed surprise when I inquired whether he had already arrived in the United Kingdom, specifically in London.
Upon his arrival, I had the pleasure of meeting him for a casual conversation. He shared his itinerary, and I suggested that we organize a gathering with some of our fellow Charleans. My curiosity led me to Charlean Debo Adewunmi's residence, where, during our catch-up, he mentioned that Senior Ebinum was eager for us to spend some time together.
Instead of visiting Past President Tayo Orekoya alone, as I had originally planned, Debo informed me of Senior Ebinum's presence in town. At that moment, we decided to host him and reached out to his chief host, Charlean Demola Ogunrin, to ensure that Friday evening was reserved for a special Presidential gathering.
The evening was truly memorable. Among the highlights was Debo meeting our distinguished guest for the first time, while Egbon Ebinum and Past President Orekoya reconnected after an impressive 51 years.
A scenario similar to the dining hall at St Charles Grammar School, Osogbo.
Apart from Debo Adewumi, Charleans(PP) Tayo Orekoya, Demola Ogunrin, Idowu Oketunji, Lanre Olaosun, Sunny Dumbili and Clement Ebinum shared memorable times at the school. They are either all ex-tenants of Pako, Basement, Murumba or New Hall. Sweet.... Sweet memories
Humilitas!
